Former Utah congressman dies

(CNN) — Former Utah Congressman Bill Orton died Saturday afternoon in a four-wheeler crash, authorities said.

Orton, 60, was riding an all-terrain vehicle on a sand dune at the Little Sahara Recreation Area, when it flipped and landed on top of him, said Sheriff Alden Orme of Juab County, Utah.

Orton had on a helmet, the sheriff said.

Orton served Utah’s third Congressional district as a Democrat from 1991 to 1997.
