One of the founding members of the 1960’s singing group, Delfonics, died last Thursday at his home in Maple Shade, New Jersey, at the age of 63.
Randy Cain, along with brothers William and Wilbert Hart, formed the soul group, which had hits such as “La La Means I Love You,” while attending Overbrook High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The group pioneered the soulful “Philadelphia sound,” and won a Grammy in 1970 for their hit song “Didn’t I blow Your Mind This Time.”
In 1971 Cain left the group, but returned many years later with new members under the same name.
