A 48-year-old New York City man, who believes that the growing population of black and Hispanic in American will lead to the “New Dark Age,” and has written articles for a white supremacist publication, has been named principal of a predominantly black and Latino Catholic school in the Bronx.
In an interview with a local New York newspaper, Mount Carmel pastor, Rev. Eric Rapaglia said he was aware of Frank Borzellieri’s views on race before he promoted him to principal of Our Lady of Mount Carmel School two years ago. He said he doesn’t see any “cause for concern” in having Borzellieri run the elementary school.
“I knew of him from my last parish,” Rev. Rapaglia told the reporter. “Do I agree with all of it? No. But I think much of it is valuable and logical and reasonable. A lot of his ideas would actually benefit minorities.”
In 2004, Borzellieri wrote the book “Don’t Take it Personally: Race, Immigration, Crime and Other Heresies,” in which he states that the rising of the black and Hispanic populations in America will lead to the “New Dark Age.”
A former teacher at St. Barnabas School in Woodlawn, where the Queens’ resident taught English from 2006 to 2009, said she alerted the Archdiocese of New York in 2007 that students were complaining that Borzellieri was using them as “research” for his books. The teacher said she never got a response from the Archdiocese.
Reports say when Borzellieri was a school board member in District 24 in Queens from 1993 to 2002; he banned a biography of Dr. Martin Luther King. He also banned literatures on race and culture from school libraries calling them “anti-American”.
He had an openly gay teacher removed from Public School 199 in Sunnyside and banned school employees from making any references to homosexuality.
When contacted by the newspaper, a spokesperson for the Archdiocese said there is no record of a complaint against Borzellieri, but they will look into the matter.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackThis is truly disturbing. Not just Borzellieri’s views but those of the Rev Rapaglia. And if the parents are aware of this guy’s views, why aren’t they outraged & demanding his removal? Last I checked, a catholic education isn’t free.
