In the book “Game Change” written by Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, which is scheduled to be released on Monday, the authors said during the 2008 presidential elections, former President Bill Clinton told Senator Ted Kennedy that a few years ago Obama “would have been getting us coffee.”

In the shockingly revealing book, the authors also wrote that in a private conservation, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid D-Nevada described Obama as a “light skinned” man who had “no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.”

Reid apologized to Obama on Saturday saying, “I deeply regret using such a poor choice of words.  I sincerely apologize for offending any and all Americans, especially African-Americans for my improper comments.”

President Obama released a statement on Saturday accepting Reid’s apology and said the matter is now closed.

Also in the book, the authors said Senator John McCain’s aides told foreign policy advisers that they “have a lot of work to do,” with vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, saying “She doesn’t know anything.”

Can someone please explain to me what a “Negro dialect” is?
