GHSU lab tech Coley Mitchell arrested after co-worker found him half naked with monkeys

A 32-year-old lab tech at Georgia Health Sciences University was arrested last week after a co-worker found him intoxicated with his pants down in a campus locker room with two lab monkeys by his side.

The colleague told campus police that when he walked into the locker room in the Sanders Research and Education Building around 10:30 p.m. on August 13, he found Mitchell naked from the waist down sitting in a chair.

Mitchell, who has since been fired from his post, was arrested and charged with public intoxication.

The monkeys were given a thorough examination by a veterinarian, who said they were not hurt during the incident.
