Michael McLendon is accused of killing 10 people in Samson, Alabama

Shooter has been identified as Michael McLendon.

McLendon, fatally shot his mother then set fire to her house, then he went to another house and killed his grandparents, his aunt and uncle.

He started driving and randomly fired at anyone who was in his way, including the wife and child of a sheriff’s deputy.

AUTHORITIES ARE NOW SAYING THAT THE GUNMAN KILLED HIMSELF AFTER HE BURST INTO THE RELIABLE PRODUCTS COMPANY OUTSIDE OF GENEVA.

A gunman in Samson, Alabama, went on a shooting rampage late this afternoon leaving at least 5 people dead in two counties, authorities said.

According to reports, the incident started around 3:30PM today, when the gunman drove by a Wal-Mart and started shooting at random people.

He then drove to Geneva shooting at police vehicles that were in pursuit of him.

Samson Police Chief Gary Weeks said that the suspect was shot and killed, but it is unclear if it was self-inflicted or if the police killed the suspect.

According to reports, Geneva County Coroner was called to the Big Little Store where he found the body of a dead woman. According to the coroner the other victims are at a home off a highway and Wal-Mart.

Geneva is near the Florida border in southeast Alabama and has a population of 4,400 and Samson has about 2,000.
