A 51-year-old Pennsylvania man, who thought his wife spent more time on Facebook than with him, is accused of trying to kill her on Christmas Eve.

Harry Hibbs Jr., of North Strabane, was arrested Saturday after he tried to kill his wife, Anna, while she was holding their 2-year-old child.

Authorities said Hibbs was upset with his wife for constantly being on the social networking site that on Christmas Eve he took a gun and hit her over the head knocking her to the ground.  While on the ground Hibbs tried to shoot her but the gun malfunctioned.

Anna Hibbs told a local reporter that she begged her husband to let her leave the house but he grabbed another gun and told her the only way she was leaving “was in a body bag.”

While her husband went out to the porch, Anna Hibbs managed to call her mother, who then called 911.

Harry Hibbs was charged with criminal attempt at homicide and several counts of assault and remanded to the Washington County Jail on $500,000 bond.

Sources say Hibbs thought his wife was having an affair with a Facebook friend.
