A Canadian woman who thought she couldn’t have children gave birth to a baby boy inside a toilet.
Last Sunday, Heather Richard was experiencing major stomach pain and shortly after going to the bathroom, she found out why.
As she was sitting on the toilet bowl, Richard said she thought her intestines were falling out, but after taking a closer look she realized she had just given birth to a child.
Richard, who said she was told she’d never have children, said the baby “just fell out, I thought it was my intestine, so I’m freaking out, I’m going to die, but then it’s a little boy.”
The new mother said she did not know what to do, but luckily for her, two Winnipeg police officers were knocking at her door just as the baby fell into the toilet.
One of the officers, who were there to arrest Richard on outstanding warrants, retrieved the baby from the toilet while Richard’s younger brother and nephew stood looking in the toilet.
After fishing the unresponsive baby out of the toilet the officer started CPR on the child and once the baby started to breath they took him to the hospital.
The baby, who was named Isaiah, suffered a skull fracture when he hit the bowl but he is expected to make a full recovery.
The officer who performed the CPR is currently on a cocktail of medications due to the possibility of bodily fluid contamination.
