A homeless man in Ohio who was tasered by Lancaster police was set on fire, officials confirmed.
According to reports, last Monday night an officer saw Daniel Woods inhaling a chemical from an aerosol can and after struggling with the suspect, the unnamed officer used a new Taser stun gun to subdue the 31-year-old man, and authorities said that was when the homeless man’s chest was set on fire.
Although the police department policy warns against using Tasers when flammable chemicals may be present, authorities said the officer acted appropriately and would not be disciplined.
The homeless man was charged with abusing harmful intoxicants.
