An hour after a California man reported his wife missing he used a tracking device on her mobile phone to locate her vehicle and found her dead inside trunk.
After Anna Oung, of Long Beach, failed to report home from work on Tuesday her husband called 911 and reported her missing. He then used the GPS in her phone to locate her silver Honda Civic near the University of California, Irvine.
Oung’s husband, who has not been identified, did not have the keys to her car so he called police, who opened the trunk and found her body.
Julia Engen of the Irvine Police Department told KABC-TV “When we arrived, we found her car apparently unoccupied. However, it was locked, and [the husband] did not have keys, so we assisted him in getting the car open to look for any evidence of where she may be.”
Oung’s husband said he has no idea why his wife’s car would be parked next to the university. She worked as an engineer in Orange County.
Oung’s death has been ruled suspicious.
