Two children playing inside a Westchester, New York, home on Monday died when a tree came toppling down on the house.

Eleven-year-old Jack Baumler and his neighbor Michael Robson, 13, were playing in the living room of Baumler’s home in North Salem around 7:45 p.m. Monday, when heavy winds from Hurricane Sandy knocked a massive 100ft oak tree onto his home hitting the two boys.

The boys, who were students at North Salem Middle School, were pronounced dead at the scene.  A third child was taken to Danbury Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Two other boys, ages 12 and 15, were treated for minor scratches at the scene.

Baumler’s mother, who was inside the home at the time of the incident, was not injured.
