Former NFL player and GOP vice presidential nominee Jack Kemp announced this morning that he has been diagnosed with cancer.
Politico is reporting that Kemp has been calling friends and political associates to inform them of the news.
Republicans close to Kemp are saying that recent tests shows the cancer has spread to multiple places.
Kemp served in the House of Representatives for 18 years before becoming Secretary of Housing and Urban Development in former President George H.W Bush administration.
Prior to his career in politics, Kemp was a quarterback for the Buffalo Bills
