James Blanning who was accused of sending suspicious packages to two banks in Aspen, Colorado was found dead early this morning.
On New Year’s Eve, a Wells Fargo bank and a Vectra bank received packages with a note that indicated a threat to the community. Banks surveillance videos identified Blanning as the man who delivered the packages and with the notes.
Police closed sections of downtown Aspen temporarily on New Year’s Eve, which was one of the busiest days of the year for businesses. A manager from the Hyatt Grand Hotel in Aspen told reporters, “This has got to be the worse for us; most of the restaurants are going to be terribly hurt. People are losing so much money, it’s just crazy.”
Police said that the cause of death is still under investigation.
