A Canadian man who threatened to kill police officers on his Facebook page was arrested after one of his U.S. “Friends” spotted the postings and alerted authorities.
Shortly after 32-year-old James Houtstra, of Edmonton, Alberta, posted the threats on his Facebook page on Friday one of his “Friends” contacted Facebook, who then contacted the FBI.
The FBI then contacted an FBI liaison in Vancouver who alerted the RCMP.
Mounties surrounded Houstra’s home and after negotiating with him for about an hour they arrested him and charged him with one count of uttering threats.
According to his Facebook page, Houtstra works for Staples and attended Edmonton Christian School.
Neighbors say Hoststra lives with a woman and her two children in his Edmonton home.
