A 32-year-old Connecticut man who had appeared on the TV show “America’s Most Wanted” walked into the Enfield police station early Wednesday morning and surrendered to authorities.

Jason Nedobity, who had been missing since Makayla Korpinen died of a drug overdose in 2002, surrendered to Enfield police around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.

He was charged with first-degree manslaughter, reckless endangerment, sale of a hallucinogenic substance, sale of a hallucinogenic substance to a person under 18 years old and possession of a hallucinogenic substance.

Authorities say Jason Nedobity and his brother, Joseph, along with Korpinen, who was a sophomore at East Hampton High School at the time of her death, and another friend had taken Ecstasy in Joseph’s bedroom at his home at 62 Haddam Neck Road. The following day, Korpinen was found unconscious in a bathtub.  She died on May 21 at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.

Joseph Nedobity was sentenced in 2006 to five years in prison.

Jason Nedobity is being held on $200,000 bail.
