Jay Leno to take pay cut as staffers get the axe

There are reports that Comcast, the parent company of NBC Universal, has fired 20 staffers on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and Jay’s salary has been cut.

The cause behind the shakeup is not exactly known and the exact areas hit by the downsizing have not been made clear.

It’s also not known how much of Jay’s $30million was cut, but there are reports that Jay told NBC executives to cut his paycheck in order to save some of his staff.

The move comes as executives at Comcast continue to evaluate the assets of NBC, which is acquired in early 2011.
