A Canadian man was sentenced to 25 years in prison for running a brothel in Thailand that provided boys, some as young as 4, to older men for their sick sexual pleasure.
Before he was sentenced in a New Jersey courtroom earlier today, sixty-four year old John Wrenshall had admitted to using his home in Bangkok to host foreign visitors who paid him to have sex with Thai boys.
Wrenshall, who was also a U.S. citizen, was extradited to New Jersey after he was arrested at London’s Heathrow Airport in December 2008.
In a statement released by U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman it said “John Wrenshall created a place where innocent children were sexually brutalized as a vacation pastime. It is fitting that a man who has condemned children to live with unimaginable scars for his pleasure and profit should spend decades of his own life in a prison cell.”
Authorities were alerted to Wrenshall’s brothel after police obtained photographs of New Jersey resident, Wayne Nelson Corliss, sexually abusing several Thai boys.
