Jupiter Police Officer Bruce St. Laurent killed while escorting President Obama’s motorcade

A Florida motorcycle police officer escorting President Obama’s motorcade died after being struck by a pickup truck.

Officer Bruce St Laurent, a 20 year veteran with Jupiter Police Department, was on I-95 Sunday afternoon preparing to close the roadway for President Obama’s motorcade, when he was struck by a Ford F-150.

An ambulance that was part of the President’s motorcade, rushed Officer Laurent to a nearby hospital, where he died.

President Obama, who appeared at the Palm Beach County Convention Center a few minutes after the accident, was informed of the incident.

No charges have been filed.
