A Saks Fifth Ave employee was arrested for defrauding the upscale retail store of more than $130,000.
According to reporters, between September 22 and November 3 sales associate Kashien Mercer was caught on surveillance camera ringing up “returns” for merchandise that were stolen from the Manhattan flagship store and crediting them to electronic gift cards.
The 23-year-old man was arrested and charged with grand larceny on November 3.
Mercer’s arrest comes after a long ongoing investigation where two other employees were arrested two weeks ago on similar charges.
Authorities said the three employees took Saks for more than $300,000 in bogus returns.
