Eighth-grader, Kenny Offiaeli, from Timothy Edwards Middle School in South Windsor, Connecticut, collapsed and died while he was playing basketball yesterday afternoon.

Superintendent of schools released a statement today saying, “The middle school is a somber place this morning.  I did not know the young man, but as I walked around the building this morning, he was described as very likable, always smiling and part of a close-knit group of friends.”

As students reported to school this morning, eighth-graders were directed to the cafeteria where teachers and administrators informed the students who were not aware of the tragedy.
