The ex-wife of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has been arrested for driving while under the influence of drugs.

Kerry Kennedy, who is the daughter of Senator Robert F. Kennedy, was arrested early Friday morning after she struck a tractor-trailer on I-684 in Westchester County.

The accident occurred around 8:00 a.m. near Exit 4; however, Kennedy continued to drive her Lexus RS 350 with a flat tire getting off at Exit 3.

Fifty-two year old Kennedy was arrested after New Castle police found her behind the wheel of the disable 2008 SUV on Route 22.

It’s not immediately known what kind of drugs Kennedy, who was released after promising to appear in North Castle Town Court next Tuesday, was on.

Kerry Kennedy is the seventh of the late Senator’s 11 children.  She is the sister of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., whose wife, Mary, committed suicide in May by hanging herself in a barn on her Bedford property.

Kennedy, who has three children, was married to Cuomo from 1991 to 2003.  The couple divorced after it was revealed that Kerry, who worked as a human rights activist, heading up The Robert F. Kennedy Center for Human Rights, had an affair.
