A 73-year-old California man is under arrest for practicing medicine without a license and supplying patients with supplements containing non-FDA approved drugs.
Kurt Walter Donsbach, who claimed to have the cure to cancer, faces 11 felony charges ranging from treating patients without a license, misbranding drugs or sale, grand theft and unlawfully dispensing drugs as a cure for cancer.
Donsbach is scheduled to be arranged on Monday in a California courtroom.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackThet’ll never stop attacking our beloved Dr. Donsbach. These monsters of the health gestapo have to be destroyed. How dare they sentence cancer patients to death by “cut, slash and burn”?
Where is our freedom of choice? Who are these people that they can do this to us?
I was considered “terminal” in 2004. The medical statistics at that time showed 99.6% of stage IV melanoma patients are dead within 5 years. They don’t even track recurrent melanoma because the odds are worse. I knew I wouldn’t do whatever the reccommendation was with those odds! I did lots of alternative treatments and in Jan 2006 was still alive, but still sick. I went to Donsbach’s Hospital Santa Monica for 3 weeks in Feb 06. I came home very tired, continued his home protocol and was well on my way to getting healthy again. I went back for a week in Aug 06, then again in Feb 07. July 07, I broke my back. The CT scan showed my liver was clear. None of the lymph nodes that had been affected showed any problems. I knew with the home treatments I was doing (that Dr Donsbach had reccommended) I would recover from my broken back too.
I know I am alive today because of Dr Donsbach! Out of all the people he has helped, they found 1 who was unhappy. Just try to find those numbers in the medical oncology community! I hope and pray they just leave him alone. I love you Dr D, and thank you for everything you’ve done for me, for the staff at the hospital and all the friends around the world that I met at the hospital and have stayed in contact with. We are all forever grateful! Susanwonderstone
Kurt is not practicing medicine without a license. He is practicing health, which does not require a license. It’s pursuit is a human right.
Medicine is not health. Medicine is in fact anti-health. Medicine is an agenda for profiting from the ill and vulnerable.
Medicine is also quackery because we know the cure for many diseases that are suppressed by the Medical Mafia. We can recall how Dr Barry Marshall was ostracized for his finding on how ulcers occur.
The same fraud and corruption applies to heart disease, cancer, psych symptoms and most others.
Good studies show that psych meds are no better than placebos and very dangerous. Most random gun violence is shown to be a result of linkage to psych meds, especially trying to come off of them. And suicides as well. It is not the guns, it is the Rx pills. There is no ‘motive’, there is a Rx.
The Medical Mafia and Big Pharma commit crimes against humanity. Worse is planned – Codex Alimentarius is coming, and attacks on healthy food choices (GMOs, terminator gene).
I am told that only medicine is legally allowed for treatment of cancer. It was cured decades ago, but those cures cannot be legally told. Of course legal is not the same as morally right. Legal just means that corrupt lawmakers (an oxymoron) have been bought off.
According to John Hopkins University, each cancer chemo patient is worth a quarter million USD to the cancer ‘industry’. Your money or your life – a mugging.
It is such a sad commentary on the state of affairs. Without knowing details, but having read all of Dr. Donsbach’s books on health, it is apparent that the FDA is picking this time now to test the waters for public reaction to his arrest. For years Dr. Donsbach has advocated alternative health supplementation to regain health.
Unfortunately to regain health sometimes means to “cure” the condition or disease that has been given a name by science, such as cancer, arthritis, or some difficult to pronounce medical term. There has to be some manner for people to communicate regarding their health as it is presented to them by main stream industrial medicine.
This is a great opportunity for everyone who has benefited from Dr. Donsbach’s advice through the many years to show their support and begin a national movement to put pressure on the government to come to terms with the reality of the times; ie. the outrageous costs of medical drugs, their dangers, and the need to support nutritional alternatives through government support and NOT governmental harassment funded by pharmaceutical interests.
What are the details of the issue and what court is this being held?
If you look at the history of alternative remedies since the medical profession was deemed to be our medical care givers, you see a steady effort to stop our access to these 1000+ year old time proven remedies.
Why does this happen? Profit.
Alternative care providers don’t have multiple billions of dollars to carry forth their campaigns, unlike the drug companies and their marketing division, the medical profession. The drug providers are driven by greed and the enforcement officials they control are elected using donation dollars made from those sales. This is a true David and Goliath battle.
The drug companies develop dangerous drugs for which they charge us absurd prices. The medical profession is willing to push these drugs (despite a continuing parade of adverse consequences) and largely limits itself to curing not prevention.
Pioneers such as Kurt W. Donsbach have always been called upon to make the personal sacrifices in the fight for our rights to preventive remedies and continued good health, not just cures.
Dr. Donsbach and others have done so to their personal determent, because they were appalled at the repression of these time tested remedies by the medical profession and the lack of available of these alternatives to everyone.
God Bless Kurt W. Donsbach and all who battle with him for our right to be healthy
After eight years of health using Dr. Donsbach’s nutritional supplements there is no doubt that they work. I had advanced prostate cancer. I know lots of men who submitted themselves to radiation, a “standard treatment” for allopathic doctors. Although they are alive, they are not well by any definition.
The government/FDA/AMA/Big Pharma continued suppression of naturopathic healing is a great tragedy in our society. Freedom to choose our own way of healing is certainly one of the unalienable rights referred to by our founding fathers.
I encourage everyone to write or email their congressman about this use of our taxes to fund persecution of effective naturopathic healers.
I think it is absolutly sick that people would do something like this. What would happen if someone got even more sick or even died with someone malpracticing medicine?
This Donsbach dude is a ruthless scam artist, killing people in his path after money. It’s not that he is trying to “help” people and promoting health in stead of medicine as some people are claiming in the comments. He’s doing the exact opposite for christ sake. There has been several acute liver failures reported in Norway and Sweden due to Donsbach product Fortodol. Their liver just “melted away” after prolonged exposure to the illegal drug nimesulide, that the so called “doctor” Donsbach put into his product. The product was of course labeled with other natural ingredients such as Curcumin, but the extremely good and immediate effects that people reported came from the hidden drug.

More than 2 million American men have prostate cancer, and it is the second leading cause of cancer death among men
I note the comment by “pilleguri”, above. Has pilleguri made an unsupported allegation here? Where is the documentation that proves a hidden (undisclosed ingredient) called nimesulide was in Fortodol? Can you cite it all, please, next time.
I note you work for QuackWatch, apparently. No bias then on your part, obviously.
You said the hidden ingredient was seriously harmful to some users of the product, but others you then went on note found it a dramatic help (both due to this suppose hidden ingredient)…you can’t have it both ways. It helps or it hinders? But there are a lot of patented medicines that have similar problems, and you should know, but you accept this risk in their case because they come via large drug companies I suppose?
But as I said, did the problems in this instance really exist? Was there an undisclosed ingredient? If the ingredent was there, but not stated, then I take your point that it should have been stated. But,show me the money, honey, if you want to attack in this way. Document it all. And must you swear! Quack.
Wikipedia has a good entry on nimesulide, apparently. Makes the point, after a corruption issue in Italy, that now nimesulide is out of copyright and so is cheaper than the other similar products that seem to carry the same amount equally as nimesulide use.
that should read “similar products… carry the same amount of risk equally as nimesulide use”. So it may be as safe as anything else regulated medicine can offer.
Doc Donsbach helped my sister with her acne problem and he didn’t make a penny off of it. My sis purchased the vitamin (Vit A) at a local health food store. Thanks for your help Doctor D! I’m sorry for what the big pharma thugs have done to you. The Bible says, “The love of money is the root of all evil”. Yep, Big Pharma sure loves their money and attacks anyone who might negatively impact their profits.
The Serpent sons of Hell have taken over the United States of America and are trying to destroy a great healer and humanitarian. Dr Donsbach has helped me and members of my family, and by his wisdom and knowledge I have avoided unnecessarily being cut open by the what pharmaceutical industry passes off as a doctor. These trumped up charges against Dr Donsbach is an assault not only on his rights, but, the rights of all Americans who prefer real medicine instead of the poison of big pharma.
Just out of curiosity… how exactly is the sale of Supplementation considered Practicing Medicine? Shouldn’t consumers be allowed to choose non-standard methods if they want to? This whole “Medicine without a License” thing really has gone out of hand. I mean, I can get in trouble just for quoting a study!
Here, I’ll do it: According to popular science magazine, a study was done which showed that the taking of antidepressants decreases the size of the hypothalamus which in turn results in a lowering of self esteem in the long run and is the reason why a side effect of antidepressants include suicide.
That’s a fact. It’s a well documented study. But wait… oh… I’m not allowed to talk about the truth, am I? I have 4 College Medical text books on my shelf right in front of me and if I even read them to someone, I can be arrested for “Practicing Medicine without a license”
So how exactly is this a Free Country, if I can’t even say the truth? Since when was the government granted the right to a gag order on everyone by we the people?
I think it’s really sad cases like this still happen, but it is reality and what to do, but a drastic change and quick.
