Lauren Dean charged in the hit-and-run accident that killed Ranford Beckford

 Lauren Dean, 24, of Ronkonkoma LI was arrested for the hit-and-run accident that killed 51 year-old veteran Ranford Beckford as he was riding his motorized wheelchair.

Ms. Dean whose blood alcohol content was .242 (more than three times the legal limit) is accused of running over Beckford in her 2000 Chevy Cavalier Sunday morning.  Prosecutors said that Dean made a written statement to driving drunk and said she thought she hit a curb, referring to Beckford.

This morning Dean pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident.  Bail was set at $150,000
