Leila Deen arrested for throwing custard in Lord Mandelson’s face

29-year-old Leila Deen was arrested for throwing custard at British Business Secretary Peter Mandelson, London police said.

The environmental protestor threw green custard at Lord Mandelson just before he was about to take part in a low-carbon summit in London last Friday.

Deen, who is a member of the Plane Stupid campaign group, targeted Mandelson because of his support for a new runway at Heathrow airport.

Lord Mandelson, who was surprised that Deen was able to avoid security outside the Royal Society and was not apprehended, jokingly said the custard gave him a “slight” facial irritation.
