Thirteen-year-old Liam Gill was electrocuted yesterday after touching an overhead train cable in a depot in Liverpool, authorities said.
According to reports, the teenager was playing in the train maintenance depot around 5:00 p.m. yesterday with two other teenagers when he touched the 25,000 volts lines after climbing to the roof of the train.
Tributes were left on Liam’s, who is also known as “Dudda” Facebook site and teachers at his school, St. Benedict’s Catholic College praised the young man as “brilliant footballer, a friend to many and always willing to help in times of need.”
The Chief Superintendent of British Transport Police, Peter Holden said there are warning signs around the site and the yard is “as secure as it can be.”
