A Long Island nun who had too much gin to drink drove her car off the road almost killing a group of kids playing in a front yard, authorities said.
The incident occurred last Tuesday in Wantagh when Sister Lauren Hanley of the St. Frances de Chantal Church crashed into several parked cars before plowing into a tree.
The 68-year-old nun had a 0.18 blood-alcohol level, which is more than twice the legal limit of 0.08.
The nun, who did not suffer any injures, was charged with misdemeanor drunken driving.
If convicted, she faces a maximum of one year in jail.
