Man commits suicide by jumping off the George Washington Bridge

A man committed suicide around 2:30 p.m. today by jumping off the Washington Bridge.

Authorities say the man, whose identity has not been released, jumped from the north side of the bridge, landing on the southbound side of the Harlem River Drive near West 181^st Street.

The southbound side of the Harlem River Drive is currently closed
