A Long Island, New York, man driving in the wrong direction on the Long Island Expressway early this morning died when his car collided with another vehicle.
Authorities said the man driving the black Honda Civic entered the highway going in the wrong direction at Exit 41N in Jericho around 4:15 a.m. Sunday.
The victim’s car collided with a Mercedes Benz killing him at the scene. His passenger is hospitalized with life threatening injuries.
Reports say the driver of the Mercedes was also hospitalized. As of press time he was listed in stable condition.
It’s unclear whether alcohol played a role in the fatal accident.
