17-year-old Manohara Odelia Pinot, whose marriage to a 31-year-old Malaysian prince last year made news headlines, has moved back into her parent’s home after escaping what she says was a life of torture and captivity.

In a news conference over the weekend, Pinot said her husband, Tengku Mohammad Fakhry, the prince of Kelantan state, treated her like sex slave.

The fashion model, who is half-American, said she was sometimes slashed with razor blades and was locked in her bedroom almost every day.

Last weekend while she was accompanying her husband’s family on a trip to Singapore to visit her father-in-law in a hospital, she was able to escape the family with the help of her mother, Singapore police and U.S. Embassy officials.

Pinot, who is a well-known socialite in Indonesia, married the prince shortly after her 16th birthday.

After her American mother, Daisy Fajarina, was barred from seeing her daughter she went to the media and reported that Pinot had been kidnapped, an accusation that was denied by the Kelantan royal family.

A lawyer for Pinot said his client is considering suing the royal family.
