Mariah Carey gives birth to a girl and a boy

Singer Mariah Carey and her husband Nick Cannon are parents to a boy and girl who were born this afternoon.

A representative for the singer said Cary delivered the babies around 12:07 p.m. Saturday at a hospital in Los Angeles.

The rep said the girl was born first, weighing 5lbs 3oz; her brother was born at 5lbs 6oz. The girl is said to be about 18inches long and the boy 19 inches.

The rep said mother and children are doing well.

I can think of, but having a baby – or two, as in this case – is a unique and wonderful experience. I congratulate her and her husband – as I would with any new parent who is not an abusive drug addict or otherwise have issues which make them completely unfit to raise a child. To me, it seems that she has calmed down a lot of the last few years and found happiness, and I really hope the happiness will continue for the sake of the children. Congrats to Mariah and Nick.
