A 26-year-old Canadian man is accused of butchering his parents to death inside their rural Ontario home.
After failing to show up to work on Saturday and not returning his employer’s phone calls, police went to Donald White’s home in Barrie and found him and his 51-year-old wife, Lauredith, butchered inside the ranch-style home on County Road 6.
Shortly after the gruesome discovery, police arrested the couple’s son, Gregory White.
Neighbors said 53-year-old Donald White, his wife, along with Gregory and Gregory’s sister, moved into the home, just north of Springwater Township, about five years ago.
They said although Gregory was odd, they never suspect him to commit such a crime.
Gregory was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of indecently interfering with a human body.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackI knew Laurie, and knew of her husband Don. They were very close to my family. Besides the grief I feel over losing two such wonderful people, I am disgusted with the play on words in the title of this article. Meat clerk Donald White and his wife butchered to death? Really? Is this tragic event not enough? Are the details not horrific enough, so you feel to need to use a play on words to get attention? These amazing people were murdered, and their son is obviously not well. To turn this into a shocking media headline and disrespect those we have lost is absolutely ignorant. People are suffering with the media frenzy and details of the crime already. Enough is enough. Have some compassion would yah?
I too know the White family and am sickened by your article. This is not an episode of CSI and the “cute” title is simply sick. These are PEOPLE and other PEOPLE are left behind who are grieving and trying to come to terms with the horrifying loss of their family and friends. You should be ashamed of yourself for the disrespectful and sick reference. Tonight, take a look in the mirror and ask yourself if you are proud of the work you did and the way you further hurt and disgusted those who still have a heart and can see this for what it is – nothing short of a tragedy. We have been asking ourselves for days, how could this have happened? How could a son do such brutal and unimaginable things? …and then your article comes along to explain it all. The lack of respect for the loss of human life and for those who were left behind. This is not a joke. This is the reality of how these people lost their lives. These were their last moments on this earth. I most sincerely hope that you and your editor take this to heart and apologize for your lack of tact and human compassion.
I agree with the above comment. I too knew Laurie and Don. You folks need to take a serious look at the meaning of respect, ethics and compassion. Because with headlines like these it is evident that you have none. You owe the family and those left behind an apology and a retraction.
You might also want to get your facts straight. Don is a manager of the grocery store.
I am utterly disgusted with people like you.
I am in total agreement with the above comments. I am a family member and this article is absolutely horrific. My family has had a hard enough time with this and still is i hope whoever wrote this takes a long look at themselfs and at what they wrote .
