A 21-year-old University of Central Oklahoma student said he had no problem telling the police that the man who was captured robbing a bank, on the bank’s surveillance tape was his father.

Michael Siany said, “I sat there for about an hour, thinking about what I should do.  A lot of things went through my mind, but I knew the right thing to do,” the criminal justice major said.

This is not the first time that his estranged father was wanted for robbing a bank.  In 2000, David Louis Siany was arrested for planning to rob a bank in Texas, for which he served more than two years, and he also served time for robbing banks in Oklahoma and Minnesota.

Last Month, he was arrested for two separate robberies in Oklahoma, and police said he got away with over $5,000

Siany, who said he was raised solely by his mother, said, “My father used to love spending time at the racetrack and he got into debt.  He just got into more debt.  He needed money quickly and robbing banks was the quickest way to get out of debt.”

“I am sure he is a good person somewhere down in there, but for some reason he does these bad things,” the junior Siany said.
