Update: 10/25/12
Judge ruled to unseal Mitt Romney’s testimony in Tom and Maureen Stemberg’s divorce as requested by the Boston Globe newspaper. The judge however denied Gloria Allred’s request to ungag her client’s( Maureen Stemberg) request to speak on the matter because Gloria, who has been a lawyer for several decades, did not submit an official motion.
Original story
This is turning out to be one of the nastiest Presidential elections that I have ever seen.
While media whore Donald Trump is threatening to release personal information about President Obama’s relationship with his wife, another media whore, Gloria Allred is fighting to have Mitt Romney’s testimony in Staples founder Tom Stemberg and his ex-wife, Maureen, divorce unsealed.
Maureen Stemberg is said to have told Allred that Romney falsely testified in her divorce that Staples was worth virtually nothing.
Romney is said to have told the court that Staples stock was “overvalued” and he “didn’t place a great deal of credibility in the forecast of the company’s future.” Sources say he went as far as to call Tom “a dreamer.”
Maureen Stemberg claims that because of Romney’s testimony she got pretty much nothing in her divorce.
Shortly after his divorce was finalized, Tom Stemberg and Romney cashed in their Staples stock for mega millions.
Sources say a short time later, Tom Stemberg, who was at this time working as one of Gov. Romney’s chief health care advisers, cancelled his ex-wife’s health insurance, even though she was suffering from MS.
He then took their only child away and left Maureen penniless because of her medical bills.
Maureen eventually lost her home.
I slammed Donald Trump for threatening to release alleged divorce paperwork allegedly filed by First Lady Michelle Obama because personal relationships have no place in politics; however, this is different.
Although I am not a fan of Ms. Allred, if these allegations against Romney are correct then the judge needs to unseal the case.
This shows exactly how Romney ran his businesses and how he intends to run America…..if he wins

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackMrs. Sternberg may have had or still have legal options to pursue this, especially since the subsequent sale of stock was so profitable. Publicly owned companies must file quarterly and annual reports with the Security Exchange Commission which can show historical values. Not to mention that Staples and Bain Capital, which purchased or invested in Staples as an attractive business opportunity, have records that might be subpoena worthy to show internal valuations.
