A New York City shop-owner was murdered in his Brooklyn store late Friday night.
Residents walking by Valentino Fashion Inc. in Bay Ridge late Friday night noticed that the retail store was opened longer than its normal closing time.
When they went to check on shopkeeper Mohammed Gabali they found him lying unconscious on the floor with a shotgun wound to the neck.
Sixty-five year old Gabali was rushed to Lutheran Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Neighbors said Gabali, who opened the clothing store on Fifth Avenue near 77th Street in 2004, lived in the neighborhood.
It’s unclear why the Egyptian businessman was still in the shop at 11:30. Neighbors said the store normally closes at 7:00 p.m.
Early reports say nothing was taken from the store.
