Authorities are investigating more than 20 horses that became ill this week in southern California and they believe the horses were intentionally poisoned.
It is believed that the horses were given oleander bush leaves sometime between Wednesday night and early Thursday morning at their ranch in San Diego.
Ranch owner Bill Tomin told CNN that he found “bits and pieces of carrots and chopped up apples along with multiple leaves” in the stalls.
The prognoses of the horses are not known.
