A mother who does not want her identity to be known, is speaking out about her son’s arrest for receiving nude pictures from one of his female classmates.
The woman said her son received a nude picture from a fellow high school student on his cell phone, but claims he did not know the girl.
The case stems from an October 2008 incident, where six students at Greenburg Salem High School in Pennsylvania, were arrested and charged with child pornography for receiving and sending nude photographs.
Authorities said that the three girls, ages 14 and 15, allegedly sent nude pictures of themselves to three male students, ages 16 and 17.
The unidentified mother said, “This is going to ruin his life. My son did not know this girl. He had seen her around school, and it was texted to him. He did not take the picture.”
“I could see if my son took the picture of the girl,” the mother said. “My son just received this as a text message, which by the way, the principal said the whole school had it on their phones.”
Authorities became aware of the situation when a teacher confiscated an activated cell phone in class from one of the boys, which is a school violation.
After seeing the image of the girl, she immediately turned it over to school officials who in turn called the police.
During an investigation, other phones with pictures were seized from five other students.
Police said that the girls are being charged with manufacturing, disseminating or possessing child pornography, while the boys are charged with possession of child pornography
