Parents were forced to break up a fight between two mothers from the same team during a football game in Fairfield, Connecticut, over the weekend.
Witnesses told police that after a Pop Warner game between 12 and 13-year-old players from Hamden and Stratford last Saturday, the wife of Hamden coach asked a mother to step aside while taking pictures of the team.
It is alleged that the mother told the coach’s wife, “I’ll move when I’m damn ready,” which led to a verbal confrontation between the two women.
The woman’s 20-year-old daughter, who did not like how the coach’s wife was looking at her mother, got involved in the melee and began cursing at the photographer, just before physically attacking her.
The mother joined her daughter and the two began to punch and scratch the coach’s wife.
Parents from both teams had to break up the two-on-one attack.
Police said that it is likely that charges will be filed against mother and daughter.
