New Canaan resident Elliot L. Maynes arrested on child porn charges

A New Canaan man surrendered to police early Tuesday afternoon after finding out that a warrant had been issued for his arrest.

Elliot L. Maynes, of 283 Buttery Road, turned himself in around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday after learning of the warrant.

Norwalk police began investigating Maynes after a computer technician at P.C. Richards and Sons contacted them about child pornography that was found on Maynes’ laptop, which he had brought in to be repaired.

Police received a warrant to search Maynes’ computer and a forensic analysis concluded that more than 50 child pornography images were on his computer.

Maynes was released on a $50,000 bond after promising to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on July 27.
