The body of a 30-year-old Westchester, New York, firefighter was pulled from a Fairfield County harbor, several hours after the boat he was driving flipped over in the harbor’s east breakwall.

Keith Morris, a firefighter in New Rochelle, along with his brother and three others were returning home after having dinner at the Crab Shell restaurant in Stamford when the accident occurred in Long Island Sound around 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

It’s believed Morris was attempting to steer the 26-to-28 foot Sea Ray out of the harbor when he veered off course and out of the channel leading to Long Island Sound and slammed his boat into the east breakwall about 100 feet outside the channel.

Two men and two women were rescued in the Greenwich around 1:15 a.m. Monday.

Morris’ body was found Monday afternoon, 58feet under water near the scene of the collision.

The conditions of the other victims were not available at press time.

IT’s unclear whether alcohol played a role in the incident.
