New York socialite Shawn Modell arrested after attacking her mother in Hamptons hotel

Shawn Modell, a New York City realtor, who is related to the sporting goods family of the same name, was arrested last weekend after she assaulted her mother in a Hamptons hotel.

Reports say Shawn and her mother were staying at Southampton Inn last Sunday when she struck her mother in the head, causing a laceration.

Witnesses said after the altercation Shawn came downstairs all scratched up screaming “I’m done! I’m fed up! I can’t take it anymore!”

Reports say blood was found in the bathroom and on the bed of the rented $469-a night guestroom.

Shawn was released from jail after posting $100 bail.  Her mother was treated and released from a local hospital.

According to her biography on Warburg’s website, where Shawn Modell works as a real estate agent, prior to joining the Manhattan company she worked in PR “representing celebrities, fashion designers and industry leaders.”  The site says her various expertise ranges from “event promotions to the print and online media fields, previously handling publicity for five-star events such as the Tribeca Film Festival, New York Fashion Week and the Sundance Film Festival.”

Shawn’s mother also works at Warburg.
