Around 2:30 p.m. on Friday, a fourteen-year-old boy was shot by another 14-year-old while walking down the hallway at Discovery Middle School in Madison, Alabama, authorities confirmed.

The victim, Todd T. Brown was rushed to Huntsville Hospital after being shot in the head by a ninth-grader whose identity has not been released.

Brown is currently listed in extremely critical condition.

The alleged shooter is in police custody.

Police did not say what caused the shooting in the northern Alabama town of about 38,500 residents.
