Passengers on a city bus in London were late getting to their destinations after a Muslim driver pulled over so he could pray in the aisle.
Without warning, the driver on the No. 24 bus Gospel Oak pulled over the double-decker, rolled his fluorescent jacket on the aisle as an improvised prayer mat, took off his shoes and knelt towards Mecca before chanting.
For five minutes passengers could not leave or get on the bus.
Some drivers complained to Transport for London that they were concerned that the driver was a fanatic planning to blow up the bus.
The bus company, London General, released a statement reassuring passengers that last week’s incident is something that should not have happened.
