If you do not mind the cold and want to live in a state that is recession free, then pack your bags and move to North Dakota.
While the rest of the country is going through a slump, North Dakotans are still “living large”. Cars sales are up 27 percent, foreclosure is minuscule, homes values are still gaining modestly and new construction is still being built statewide.
While most states are finding ways to save money, N.D lawmakers are contemplating what to do with a $1.2 billion budget surplus. There are currently 13,000 unfilled jobs and they cannot find people to fill these positions.
If you are in the technology industry and are currently unemployed, Microsoft is looking to hire about 1,500 people.
