NY state Senator and sometime girlfriend-beater Hiram Monserrate, was indicted today on charges of whacking his girlfriend during a wild fight in his NY apartment.

The loser was charged with three counts of felony assault for beating the crap out of Karla Giraldo, and three counts of misdemeanor assault.

According to reports, on December 12, 2008, Monserrate was sniffing through his girlfriend’s personal stuff when he came upon a business card belonging to another man in her wallet.

Because he is a chicken shit and did not want to confront the man and ask him what was his business card doing her wallet, he decided to use Giraldo’s face as a punching bag and knocked her out as though he was Mike Tyson.

His apartment surveillance camera caught him yanking on her arm while she was attempting to hold on to a stairway banister, and when she was banging on a neighbor’s door screaming bloody murder.

When she was first admitted to Long Island Jewish Medical Center, she told the nurses that Monserrate beat her up, but later changed her story and said that he tripped on her shoes while he was bringing her a glass of water in bed.

29-year-old Giraldo needed more than 20 stitches near her left eye.

If convicted, Monserrate, who was sworn into the state Senate in January, faces up to seven years in prison
