NYC cops responding to a gas leaked left a tenant dead

NYC police officers responding to a gas leak in a Brooklyn basement apartment led to a violent clash with the knife-wielding tenant causing cops to fatally shoot her.

After firefighters broke down the locked basement door, cops entered the apartment and the tenant confronted them with a kitchen knife.

The cops identified themselves yet the unidentified woman repeatedly stabbed an officer in both hands causing an officer to fire three shots hitting her twice.

According to reports, the tenant and the landlord had been in several altercations since she stopped paying rent over five months ago.

The landlord had called 911 to report a gas odor coming from the basement.  NY authorities said that all four of the stove’s burners were emitting gas.

Police were called to the address at least five times since March 31, 2009.  During one of the visits, the lady threatened to blow up one of her neighbors.
