A 9-year-old NY girl was pronounced dead at a Connecticut hospital on Saturday after EMT pulled her body from a lake where she had been camping with her family.

Fajir Javid of NYC and her family were camping at Wilderness Lake in Willington when she and a group of people decided to go for a swim in the late.

Around 12:30 p.m. someone within the group realized that Fajir was missing and a search was conducted for her while authorities were called.

About 45 minutes after the Willington fire department arrived Fajir was located in about 10 feet of water, approximately 30 feet from shore.

She was rushed to Johnson Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
