A retired NYC police officer who suspected his police officer wife of having an affair with a fellow officer, attempted to kill the couple in the driveway of his Long Island home before fatally shooting himself.
According to reports, early this morning, retired office Cecil Ramsay, who was on a list to receive a heart transplant, confronted his wife Dady Belfort and her alleged lover Edwin Chittick, in the home he shared with her and their kids.
A verbal confrontation occurred in the home and as the couple was in the driveway getting ready to leave, Ramsay followed them and fired three shots striking Chittick in the hand.
As family members watched the scene unfold from inside his home, Ramsay, 51, put the pistol to his head and committed suicide.
Belford, 47, drove her lover Chittick, 40, to the Good Samaritan Hospital while family members and neighbors watch her husband died in the driveway.
