A NYC police officer who had reported his wife missing early this morning was shocked to discover she had been sitting in her car at the bottom of their swimming pool.

After returning home from a Ranger game with his son Tuesday night, Max Bax was surprised that his wife, who suffered from Multiple Sclerosis, was nowhere to be found in their home.

The following morning after Max, 57, and his 28-year-old son Christopher still couldn’t find Marianne, around 11:00 p.m. they reported her missing.

Shortly after filing the missing report, Max, who is a 30-year veteran police officer, noticed a break in the ice covering his swimming pool.

After inspecting the pool a little closer he saw Marianne’ white Mercedes completely submerged inside.

Rescue workers broke through the car’s sunroof and pulled Marianne out and pronounced her dead at the scene.

Investigators are not sure if Marianne’s illness played a role in the accident.

According to reports, Marianne drove her car about 100 feet over the lawn through a bush and a four-foot fence before landing backwards into the pool.
