A 28-year-old off-duty Hartford police officer was killed early this morning in a single vehicle accident.
Authorities say Officer John Marvin was driving on Route 85 in Hebron shortly after midnight when he drove through a stop sign at the intersection of Route 94 and crashed into an embankment.
Marvin, who was speeding and not wearing his seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Speeding, no seatbelt, running a stop sign….some police officer he was. Thank God no one else was injured.

What kind of writer discloses their personal opinion in a public article? Extremely unprofessional
A single-car accident in the absence of extreme weather conditions properly raises questions regarding the driver’s judgement. That said, I concur with the previous two posts’ objection with the tone of the article. Marvin was a human being who might have been intoxicated or simply had a lapse of attention–further investigation may or may not provide answers. Police officers are human beings and are hardly perfect. I feel sorrow for the people who loved him and were dependent upon him. Snide words refect upon he who wrote them.
