Police in Vermont are investigating the death of a 28-year-old Ohio woman who died from injuries she suffered after jumping out of a moving tracker trailer.

It is believed that Elizabeth Lyons, of Lynchburg, announced she was going to jump from the cab of the moving vehicle just before she did so around 1:30 a.m. Friday on Route 22A in Benson, Vermont.

The tractor trailer driver, who has been identified as 51-year-old Robert Simpson, also of Lynchburg, stopped the vehicle to search for Lyons.

Simpsons found her a short time later and she was taken to Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, where she died from injuries she suffered to her head.

Police say the incident does not appear to be suspicious, but their investigation is continuing.
